There are certain rules which apply across all the Android Wiki.

This is a list of policies and guidelines presented on the Android Wiki.

As ever, the staff members on this wiki strive to keep our rules simple. If anyone notices a rule that could be simplified, broadened, or improved, please do not hesitate to drop a message on this article's talk page.

We would also remind our users, including you, to keep in mind Fandom's Terms of Use while using the wiki.

General

This section is about rules that apply to all the Android Wiki.

1.0 The English Rule You must only talk coherent English Reminder.
1.1 The Civility Rule You mustn't harass users and/or engage in bigotry or any form of xenophobia. Block.
1.2 The Anti-slur Rule You mustn't say any xenophobic slurs. Permanent block.
1.3 The Anti-asking Rule You mustn't ask user's private information. Warning.
1.4 The Anti-impersonation Rule You mustn't pretend to be another individual. Warning.
1.5 The Anti-NSFW Rule You mustn't post any form of pornography, gore, scary or violent content Permanent block.
1.6 The Anti-trolling Rule You mustn't seek attention or provoke users. Permanent block.
1.7 The Anti-troll-feeding Rule You mustn't feed trolls Reminder.
1.8 The Anti-spam Rule You mustn't spam content, in other words, inserting suspicious links or copy-pasted text multiple times. Block.
1.9 The Anti-promotion Rule You mustn't promote content on the wiki, including content unrelated to Android and/or Fandom. Warning.
1.10 The Sockpuppet Rule You mustn't create accounts to evade blocks. Permanent block of all accounts.
1.11 The Underage Rule You must have at least 13 years old to join the wiki. The underage user will be blocked until there is enough trust that they are thirteen.
1.12 The Username Rule You must have an appropriate username. Permanent block until the username is changed.
1.13 The Anti-doxxing Rule You mustn't leak/publish private information of a person or a group without their consent. Permanent block.

Discussions

This section is about rules that apply to the discussions board of the Android Wiki.

2.0 The Anti-arguments Rule You mustn’t post content will the goal of provoking arguments or any harassing content. The rants will be locked or deleted, and the user who posted the inflammatory post will receive a warning.
2.1 The On-Topic Rule You must talk only about Android or the wiki. You cannot talk anything that is off-topic. The off-topic content will be locked or deleted, and the user will receive a reminder.
2.2 The Coherent Rule You mustn't talk in a weird/strange tone Reminder.
2.3 The Anti-Necroposting Rule You mustn't post in threads that were posted over 30 days ago Reminder.

Blogs

This section is about rules that apply to the message walls of the Android Wiki.

3.0 The Anti-content Rule Do not create article-style blogs, this also applies to not add categories on them. Reminder.
3.1 The Anti-irrelevance Rule Do not create unnecesary blog posts. Warning.

Message Walls

This section is about rules that apply to the message walls of the Android Wiki.

4.0 The Staff Warnings Rule Only the staff of the Android Wiki can give warnings. Warning.
4.1 The Anti-warning deletion Rule Do not delete warnings and/or reminders from your wall. Warning.

Content

This section is about rules that apply to the wiki content of the Android Wiki.

5.0 The Bytes Rule Articles in the Android Wiki must have at least 650 bytes of information. The page will be marked for deletion, and the creator of the article will receive a warning.
5.1 The Stubs Rule Articles in the Android Wiki under 1300 bytes will be marked as “stub” articles. The page will be marked as a stub.
5.2 The Neutrality Rule Articles in the Android Wiki must be written neutrally, do not write your own opinions. The page will be marked as "biased".
5.3 The Third-Person Rule Articles in the Android Wiki must be written in third person. The page will be marked for deletion, and the creator of the article will receive a reminder.
5.4 The Anti-AI Rule Articles in the Android Wiki mustn't be written with artificial intelligence such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Microsoft Bing AI, among others. The page will be marked for deletion, and the creator of the article will receive a warning.
5.5 The Anti-copypasting Rule Articles in the Android Wiki mustn't be copied from other websites. The page will be marked for deletion, and the creator of the article will receive a warning.
5.6 The Good-faith Rule Do not commit vandalism: Vandalism is the practice of disrupting content onto articles, such as inserting nonsense, insulting messages, etc. The vandal will be blocked.
5.7 The Anti-farming Rule You mustn’t repeatedly edit to increase your contributions count (edit-farming). The edit-farmer will be warned.
5.8 The Anti-conflicts Rule You mustn’t enter in edit conflicts, in other words, disputing with another editor about specific content and continuously change the content to place their desired content. The users involved will be warned.
5.9 The Anti-duplicates Rule Pages in the Android Wiki mustn't be duplicated The duplicator will be warned.
5.10 The Citing Rule Articles in the Android Wiki must be sourced The user who does not source will receive a reminder.

Moderation

This section is about rules that apply to the moderation of the Android Wiki.

6.0 The Blocking Restrictions Rule The only users who can block users are administrators and bureaucrats.
6.1 The Punishment Order Rule Reminders come before warnings, if a user with a valid warning breaks another rule that as a punishment leads to another reminder, they will be warned instead.
6.2 The Blockspan Rule A user can only be blocked four times, the first block will be for a week, the second for two weeks, the third for a month, and the fourth will be permanent.
6.3 The Warnings Rule A user who wasn't blocked can be warned only three times. If they have been blocked once, can be warned only twice. If they have been blocked twice, can be warned only once, and if they have been blocked three times, after breaking another rule they will be blocked permanently.
